About the Lightweight Boat Race

Lightweight rowing is a category of racing with limits on the weight of individuals and the overall crew. For women, the maximum weight for an individual is 59kg. For men the maximum individual weight is 72.5kg, with the crew average being no more than 70kg.

About the Veteran Boat Race

The Veteran Boat Race is for graduates of Oxford and Cambridge Universities who are at least 35 (men) or 33 (women) years old on the day of the race; this does not apply to coxes. Crews must have an average age of at least 42 in whole years.

The winners of the Veteran Boat Race will be presented with the Senior Cup, which was inaugurated in 2025 in memory of Tim Senior, Chair of The Boat Race Company Limited, who died suddenly in 2023.
