About Sabina Sulikova

Where did you learn to row and who was your first coach?

St Edmund Hall, Tom Hole and Tegan Hill.

What inspires you about sport?

The opportunity to see what I am capable of and constantly improve. To get stronger than ever before while contributing to a team effort and aiming for the same goal. Seeing what others have achieved and what is possible with real commitment and determination. Doing all of this with your teammates and friends in rowing is extremely special while also continuing the legacy of the history of the sport and the event (The Boat Race) itself.

Explain your earliest memory of The Boat Race

Arriving on the embankment and seeing it completely transformed in preparation for The Boat Race. Made me realise how special the event is and I thought it was really cool I got to be a part of the team.

Do you relish in hours in the gym and miles in the dark, or do you live for race days?

There is obviously one correct answer. Live for it. It’s our (second) home!

What's the secret to managing elite-level sport with studying at one of the top universities in the world?

Discipline. Commitment. Passion. (Though sometimes a bit of insanity and not getting flustered by sleep deprivation helps too.)
