Where did you learn to row and who was your first coach?
RTHC Bayer Leverkusen - Regine Marchand and Ralf Müller.
What inspires you about sport?
I like how rowing combines the technical challenge of perfecting each stroke with the teamwork needed to perform as one.
Explain your earliest memory of The Boat Race
My earliest memory of The Boat Race is from 2014, shortly after I had started rowing. One Sunday after practice, my junior coach opened his laptop in the boathouse, and we all gathered around to watch the spectacle together.
Do you relish in hours in the gym and miles in the dark, or do you live for race days?
I live for race days, because I love the moment when everything just comes together and you can perform instinctively without even thinking about it.
What's the secret to managing elite-level sport with studying at one of the top universities in the world?
For me, it comes down to good organization and keeping it fun. Ultimately, I stay motivated because I genuinely love both rowing and medical research.
