About Benjamin Atkinson
Where did you learn to row and who was your first coach?
St Paul's School, Dickie Twyman.
What inspires you about sport?
I think the squad aspect of sport, and especially rowing inspires me. I much prefer training as a team than on my own.
Explain your earliest memory of The Boat Race
I remember watching it on TV at home. I think the 2018 races were the first ones I fully remember (sadly for Oxford).
Do you relish in hours in the gym and miles in the dark, or do you live for race days?
I definitely prefer race days, but I also love a long paddle.
What's the secret to managing elite-level sport with studying at one of the top universities in the world?
Slightly controversial one, but I don't drrink coffee. I can function in the mornings without it and I don't want to become dependent on it.
