About William:

Why did you choose Philosophy?

I love the ability to ask seemingly frivolous questions and then answering them with the utmost seriousness. It has an incredible breadth of domain, meaning that it never gets stale. Ultimately, it allows you to debate in its purest form.

Why did you first try rowing?

Was picked out of a line-up at my college freshers’ fair – first loved the people and then grew to love the competition.

Who introduced you to the sport of rowing?

Inigo Holman and Ben Dyer at Caius Boat CLub

Where else have you rowed?

Wallingford Rowing Club

What are your proudest rowing achievements?

Retaining May’s Headship with Caius Boat Club

What would winning The Boat Race mean to you?

It would make the months of work about to happen worth it – obviously, there are positives gained along the way and fun to be had but, when it get’s tough, winning The Boat Race is the goal that keeps the squad moving.
