About Tara:

Why did you choose Graduate Entry Medicine?

I’ve always loved medicine for the people as much as the skills and science. Working with the team to help patients while learning about my favourite subject – I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Why did you first try rowing?

I first started coxing to become a better doctor, to improve my composure & decision making in tense situations and team management, as well as my interest in sports anatomy and physiology.

Who introduced you to the sport of rowing?

Will McDermott at Caius Boat Club, Cambridge

Where else have you rowed?

Cambridge University Lightweights & Womens boat club (pre-merger), Rob Roy Boat Club, St Peter’s College Boat Club.

What are your proudest rowing achievements?

Headship with Caius Boat Club, Pre-qualifying and racing at Henley with Caius Boat Club, racing Cambridge in the 2023 women’s boat race, beating Cambridge at Sveti Duje 2023 regatta.

Do you have a favourite Boat Race? Which one and why?

2003, due to the sheer quanitity of grit.

What would winning The Boat Race mean to you?

I will name my first born after the station we win on.
