About Phoebe:

Why did you choose Medicine?

I love that medicine is a constantly expanding field and there is just an infinite amount to know. Because of that you can’t be too much of a perfectionist and it’s about doing the best for your patients, with your knowledge but also by being a good person and communicator.

Why did you first try rowing?

I wanted to try a new sport, and thought it looked really fun!

Who introduced you to the sport of rowing?

Lenny Jenkins (oubc 2023-24!) and Alex Wythe (who coached merton at the time) at In Oxford at my college Merton

Where else have you rowed?

OUWLRC in 2021-22 then OUWBC in 2022-23

What are your proudest rowing achievements?

Rowing in the lightweight boat race in 2022 in my second year of rowing, rowing in Osiris 2023 in my third year of rowing. Winning Met regatta in summer 2022 was really fun too!

Do you have a favourite Boat Race? Which one and why?

Maybe the one where Cambridge sinks.

What would winning The Boat Race mean to you?

So much. Turning the tide for Oxford would be incredible, and losing two boat races is not fun.
