Where did you learn to row and who was your first coach?
Stanford University, USA - Ted Sobolewski, Niles Garratt and John Pojednic.
What inspires you about sport?
I love tapping in to the primal side of the brain and pushing the limits of human performance.
Do you relish in hours in the gym and miles in the dark, or do you live for race days?
I love the social aspect of sport, no matter if it's training or racing. I almost always prefer to workout with others rather than working out alone.
What's the secret to managing elite-level sport with studying at one of the top universities in the world?
I like to force myself into boredom when school is not in session, so that when it's time to start again I'm craving some intellectual stimulus. It's also important to have outlets to wind down without going on your phone. I play the piano and that is a very good way to decompress.
