About Imogen Breeze
Where did you learn to row and who was your first coach?
Imperial College London, Peter Hardcastle.
What inspires you about sport?
The mental fortitude required to push yourself to your limits, when everything in you is screaming to stop.
Explain your earliest memory of The Boat Race
The Boat Race is one of those institutions that I feel I've always been aware of in some capacity. I remember sunny days watching the BBC coverage at home with my family eating the remnants of our Easter chocolate. With both parents having done postdocs at Oxford, and my older brother having studied his undergrad there, I'm afraid to say that at that point in time we were a Dark Blue household!
Do you relish in hours in the gym and miles in the dark, or do you live for race days?
I love the community that can only be built through shared early morning sessions and long hours on the erg. I'm particularly fond of enjoying a sunrise during a crips winter's morning water session.
What's the secret to managing elite-level sport with studying at one of the top universities in the world?
Organisation and knowing the power of a well-timed nap.
