About Savannah:

Why did you choose Digital Humanities MPhil?

This course allows me to use digital tools to research in the humanities. The course is incredibly interdisciplinary, and it appeals to me because I can further my investigations in the arts through a digital approach with the use of contemporary technological advancements. Taking this course is a unique offering that Cambridge provides, and I feel very grateful to be able to learn about these digital methods of today and, inevitably, of our future.

Why did you first try rowing?

Because I was going to attend a boarding school (Kent School) that offered rowing, and I was excited to try it out to meet new friends and get involved in a sport that was a very large part of the school’s culture.

Who introduced you to the sport of rowing?

Garrison Smith at Newport Aquatic Center & Kent School

Where else have you rowed?

Cal (UC Berkeley)

What are your proudest rowing achievements?

All at Cal: Coxed the V4+ that won the Eric Will Trophy and the IRA National Championship (2023), Coxed the 2V8+ and 3V8+ at the San Diego Crew Classic (2023), Coxed the Freshman 8+ and V4+ that took first place at the Pac-12 Championship (2022, 2023).

What would winning The Boat Race mean to you?

Everything.
