About Josephine:

Why did you first try rowing?

Quite randomly – my next door neighbour was going to a trial session as her brothers rowed, and I went along with them!

Who introduced you to the sport of rowing?

Alice Carrington Windo (Oxford BB alumna) at Hinksey Sculling School

What are your proudest rowing achievements?

I remember the first time I raced on the Henley course at Henley Women’s Regatta when I was 15. It was a beautiful summer evening that we qualified.

And of course, representing Oxford in two Lightweight Boatraces. I was so excited to get my first dark blue unisuit in first year I put it on to dance around my room!

What would winning The Boat Race mean to you?

Rowing has provided amazing friends, my favourite memories and also the most tears of my time at university. Trialling for the Boat Race is such an absorbing, intense and rewarding experience and winning would be the ultimate high of the rollercoaster.
