The Oxford and Cambridge University Boat Clubs will be competing at Henley
Royal Regatta this week in The Steward’s Challenge Cup and The Prince
Albert Challenge Cup.
The Steward’s Challenge Cup on Saturday sees Cambridge Blues Tobias
Garnett, Peter Marsland, Tom Ransley and the 2009 President Henry Pelly
compete in the coxless fours. The crew was tested recently in the Poznan
World Cup as the U23 GB team.
Oxford is entering a boat under the Isis banner in The Prince Albert
Challenge Cup, coxed fours event, on Wednesday. The boat includes two
oarsmen who rowed in the winning Isis boat this year - Anthony Mullin and
Bradley Mytton - and two squad members Richard Chambers and James Soane.
They will be coxed by the 2008 Isis cox Colin Groshong.
The crews will face strong opposition from Mosley BC & Reading
University and Imperial College London respectively but will be able to
pull on their solid experience from this year’s Race to demonstrate their
skill.
