The Official crews for the Isis Goldie Race have been announced and were weighed in yesterday.
This year’s Reserve Race will see a record-breaking average weight difference between the Isis and Goldie crews, with Goldie weighing in at 13.95kg on average (excluding cox) heavier per man. With an average of 95.15kg per man, Goldie is the second heaviest Reserve crew of all time, only beaten by the 2009 Goldie crew. Isis is the lightest crew since another Isis crew in 1991 which also weighed in at an average of 81.2kg per man.
The heaviest rower in The Isis Goldie Race this year will be Light Blue, German Helge Gruetjen. The lightest rower in the Race this year will be Isis’ Tom Watson, who will be looking to stroke his crew to his third consecutive Reserve Race victory in that seat.
This year’s Isis Goldie Race will take place at 4pm, half an hour before The Boat Race, on Sunday 31st March.
