The Boat Race Company Ltd has announced today that the time of The 2014 BNY Mellon Boat Race will be changing to 5:55pm on Sunday 6th April, five minutes earlier than the originally scheduled time of 6pm. This means that the Reserve Race will also be five minutes earlier at 5:25pm.
This time change is necessary due to scheduling conflicts for the BBC who are the Official Broadcast Partner. David Searle, Executive Director of BRCL commented “Our partnership with the BBC enables millions of people in the UK and around the world to watch and enjoy The BNY Mellon Boat Race. This five minute change is something that both of the Clubs have given their full support to and will not affect the running of the Race, which is determined by the tide times on the Tideway Course. We are very much looking forward to a competitive Race on 6th April 2014.”
