Alex Davidson has been elected as President of the Oxford University Boat Club for the 2012/13 season and will lead the Oxford crew into next year’s Race, sponsored by BNY Mellon.
21 year old Davidson learnt to row while at school at St George’s College Weybridge, where he was Captain of Boats. While at UCL, he was President of Rowing before moving to University of London (ULBC) where he rowed for the final year of his Biology degree. He is now at Christ Church studying for a DPhil in Chromosome and Development Biology with a thesis on RNA Localisation and Remodelling in Development.
“I am honoured to have been elected President of the OUBC for the coming campaign. Being part of the club and representing Oxford has been one of the proudest moments of my life, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to lead the Club next year. I will hope to bring my focus, commitment, and determination to ensure we do everything we possibly can to win The BNY Mellon Boat Race.
The 159th Boat Race – sponsored by BNY Mellon, will take place at 16:30 on Sunday, 31 March 2013.
