Anastasia Chitty, current OUWBC athlete and 2015 President won the women’s single scull at Boston, Lincolnshire, on Saturday.
Anastasia Chitty (first), Ruth Siddorn (eighth), Lauren Kedar (twelfth) and Maddy Badcott (nineteenth) all finished in the top twenty in the 3rd GB Rowing Team Assessment, giving themselves a chance at representing Great Britain over the summer.
Chitty finished in 23:13, putting in the strongest first half display and holding onto the margin to the finish. Siddorn, Kedar and 2016 President Badcott each finished within a minute of Chitty despite all four of them focussing their training on sweep rowing ahead of the Cancer Research UK Women’s Boat Race.
Further assessments for the U23 and Senior teams will take place in April, two weeks after The Cancer Research UK Boat Races. Trials for the Olympic Class events take place three weeks earlier in March, including numerous former Boat Races athletes – updates to follow.
The Cancer Research UK Boat Races will take place on March 27th 2016. The women will race at 3:10pm whilst the men will start an hour later at 4:10pm.
