Oxford University Women’s Boat Club is pleased to announce the appointment of two-time Olympian Natasha Page as assistant coach.
A native of Gloucester and a graduate of Reading University, Natasha is an eight-year veteran of the British senior team. At the Olympic Games in Beijing and London, she raced in the women’s eights that finished fifth. As a developing athlete she won an U23 world title in the straight four in 2004 and was a member of the silver medal straight four at the Junior World Championships in 2003.
Chief Coach Chris Wilson offered these impressions of the committee’s selection: “Natasha knows women’s rowing at the highest level and understands training and racing. She will be a terrific coaching partner. Natasha has also expressed tremendous enthusiasm for the project before us – transforming a student-run rowing club into a competitive high performance squad of rowing athletes”.
OWUBC and the Newton Women’s Boat Race, to be held on 24th March 2013 at Henley-on-Thames, are sponsored by Newton Investment Management.
