Champagne Bollinger has become the Official Champagne Partner of The Xchanging Boat Race.
Established in 1829, Champagne Bollinger not only shares its birth year with The Boat Race, but has also long occupied a place close to the heart of British heritage and tradition via historic partnerships with other great British sporting institutions, such as the Open Championship, Royal Ascot and England Rugby at Twickenham. Aside from these sporting endeavours Champagne Bollinger is proud to have held a Royal Warrant since 1884 and continues to be the Champagne of James Bond.
Speaking about the new partnership today – Andrew Hawes, Managing Director of Bollinger’s U.K Agents Mentzendorff & Co Ltd said: –
“We are very excited to be announcing this new partnership with The Boat Race, the connection between us seems such an entirely natural one and is also a perfect fit with our other long-established sporting associations. We look forward to working closely with The Boat Race for many years to come.”
David Searle, CEO of The Boat Race Company Ltd., is equally pleased to welcome Bollinger as a new partner for The Boat Race: –
“We are delighted that Bollinger has joined The Boat Race this year. As one of the world’s premium Champagne Houses that retains its preeminent position in quintessential British society, not only does Bollinger share part of its history with The Boat Race, but also an ethos and culture of protecting core British traditions.”
Champagne Bollinger will also be developing a new hospitality area at Tideway Scullers Boat House at this year’s Xchanging Boat Race, so that spectators can enjoy a glass of Bollinger whilst enjoying a spectacular “finish-line” view of this year’s rowing battle.
The 2012 Xchanging Boat Race takes place on Saturday 7 April 2012 at 2.15pm.
