Crews from both Oxford and Cambridge Men’s and Women’s new squads will take to the water this weekend to compete at the Senior British Championships at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.
Two crews from CUWBC and a crew from OUWBC will have the opportunity to face off against each other for the first time this season as they contest the University Women’s Eights. CUWBC ‘A’ features several returners from their 2013 campaign, led by President and Blue cox, Esther Momcilovic. She is joined by Blues Emily Day, Holly Game, Caroline Reid, Claire Watkins and Melissa Wilson. In the Oxford crew, returning Blue Anastasia Chitty is joined by Osiris’ Maria Mazza.
The two Men’s clubs will compete in different categories, as Cambridge have chosen to field an Eight in the University competition, whereas an Oxford crew will race in the Open Coxless Fours category. For Oxford, Olympic bronze medallist and double Boat Race winner, Constantine Louloudis, is joined by another double victorious Blue Karl Hudspith. Bow pair from 2013’s victorious Isis crew, Iain Mandale and Nik Hazell complete the crew. The Cambridge eight is made up entirely new faces to the CUBC.
