Caroline Reid, Cambridge Blue (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015) and 2015 CUWBC President, is to become the first person from Oxford or Cambridge University to win both a rowing and a rugby union Blue.
Caroline was in the 3 seat in The Newton Women’s Boat Race on the Tideway on April 11th 2015, the first time that both the Men’s and Women’s Boat Clubs competed on the same course on the same day. She has now been selected for the Cambridge team to play against Oxford on December 10th in the first ever Women’s Varsity Match to be played at Twickenham, where she will be part of an historic occasion once again.
Currently in her fifth year at Jesus College studying Veterinary Medicine, Caroline decided to switch from rowing to trial for the CURUFC Women’s Squad. Whilst speaking to England Rugby, Caroline said “I think it’s the sport I’ve been missing in my sporting background… I’ve really found an affinity with it. I can’t imagine life without it now.”
