Already has a BSc (Hons) in Human Genetics and an MRes in Biomedical
Research as well as a DIC in Advance Research and a PGCE in Secondary
Biology. Learned to row in 2002 at Imperial College under the eye of Simon
Dennis (Olympic champion coach). Winner of the S3 Head of the River Race
and the Fours Head (2003) while rowing with Goldie. Twice competed at
Henley (2003 and 2004). Member of the GB team at the World Indoor Rowing
Championships in 2005. Former athlete who competed at national and
international level in middle and long distance running. Has a Full Purple
in Triathlon from Imperial College and a Cambridge Half Blue for Triathlon
where he won the Individual Title in the Varsity Triathlon. Trialled with
CUBC in 2004/5. Stuart is a keen explorer and has lead expeditions to
Borneo, the Amazon and Outer Mongolia. Also rowed across the North Sea in a
Viking Ship in 2005 for a “Real Boat Race” programme. Says he is losing
lots of friends at Cambridge by going “over to the Dark Side”. Turned
away from athletics to rowing because suffered a bad ankle injury and
severed tendons. Knows Henry Adams in the Cambridge squad very well as both
noviced at Imperial.
