Personal bio:
Already has a BSc in International Agriculture and Natural Resources from
the University of Wisconsin. This included a dissertation on the tomato
industry in the Dominican Republic. Also lived and studied in Princeton for
two years. Sees the programme at Oxford as an opportunity to study and row
at elite level. Wants to pursue a career in historical restoration, urban
restoration and recycling. Passionate, having been born and raised on a
farm between Chicago and Milwaukee, to contain urban sprawl. Has three
sisters and three brothers. Did not row at high school but was introduced
to the sport when undergoing rehab from an American Football injury. Made
the freshman first eight and developed from there to join the American
national squad. Won world U23 gold in 2002 (eight), Pan-American gold
(eight, 2003) and silver (four, 2003) as well as World Championships bronze
(coxed four), 2004. Became a World Champion when the USA won the men’s
eight at the 2005 World Championships
