Raced in the winning 2004 and losing 2005 Isis crews. Reached the final of the men’s Student Coxed Four event at Henley Royal Regatta (2004). World junior bronze medallist (eight) in 2001 along with Tom James of the current Cambridge squad and David Livingston from Oxford’s winning 2003 boat. Was captain of the Boat Club at St Paul’s School. Previously studied classics at Balliol but is now undertaking a M.St (one year) in General Linguistics and Comparative Philology
