Part of the Isis crew in 2005. Almost never started rowing and was going to play lacrosse instead. However, was persuaded by a friend into rowing (who subsequently found rowing too great a time commitment and dropped it). Has raced internationally from 2000 – 2004. Bronze medallist at junior world championships in 2000 (coxed four), fourth at World U23 championships in 2001 (pair) and bronze in 2002 (pair). Took the Pan American Games title (eight) in 2003 and was a World Championships (senior) bronze medallist in 2004 (coxed four). Was captain of Yale in 2003/4 and would like to continue training with the US squad after his year at Oxford. Has two younger sisters, one of whom, Liz, rows for the lightweight squad at Princeton.
