The German international rower is studying Diagnostic Imaging. Jan
previously completed a Medicine degree at Humboldt University and has since
had 3 years of surgical training. His rowing accolades date back 10 years.
At the World Championships, he won a bronze medal in the Lightweight
Men’s Four in 1997, came 10th in the Men’s Eight in 1999, finished 7th
in 2001 in the Men’s Coxless Pair and then replicated this position in
2005. He won the Grand Challenge Cup 1999 and claimed 11 national titles
between 1992 and 2005 in various boats. On the Olympic stage, Jan came 10th
in Sydney in 2000 in the Men’s coxless Four and then 6th in Athens in the
Men’s coxless Pair.
