Michal Plotkowiak will be the first Polish oarsman to race in the Boat Race
when he takes to the water on 7th April for the 153rd Boat Race, sponsored
by Xchanging.
Plotkowiak was today (Monday) named in Oxford’s Blue Boat for the race.
“It’s great to be the first Polish rower in the Boat Race,” he said.
“It’s good that someone from Poland is finally rowing in the race.
“There has been a lot of interest in Poland because of it,” he added.
“Sean (Bowden) is a great coach, so we’re really confident with our
training and everything we do.
“There’s a still a lot of room for improvement, so we should be faster
than we are right now.
“I’m looking forward to racing. I’m prepared for it,” he added.
The 153rd Boat Race, sponsored by Xchanging, gets underway at 4.30pm on
Saturday 7th April.
