Andrew is studying Controls Engineering and is writing a transfer report to
move onto an MSc or DPhil. Previously he graduated from Syracuse University
(Magna Cum Laude) with a BSc in Electrical Engineering. Andrew was
convinced by his older sister Meghan that he should take up rowing in the
spring of 1998. She was an accomplished rower herself and went on to
captain Boston University Women’s rowing team. During High School, Andrew
rowed at both the Canadian Leander Boat Club and St Catharine’s Rowing
Club. In the Autumn of 2000, he started at Syracuse University where he had
been recruited and given a scholarship to row. Andrew was a three times
varsity boat member while at Syracuse. Outside of collegiate rowing he won
medals in the eight and coxed four at the 2001 Canada Summer Games in an
U21 competition. For Oxford in 2006, Andrew rowed five seat in Isis and
three seat in the composite boat that made it to the semi finals in the
Ladies Plate at the Royal Henley Regatta. He has also been an elite level
alpine skier and cross country mountain bike racer. For the 2007 Boat Race
Campaign, Andrew is one of the Vice Presidents of the OUBC.
