Studying for a DPhil in bio-medical engineering at the Doctoral Training
Centre after previously graduating with an MSc in Civil Engineering from
the Poznan University of Technology in his home town in Poland. Was a part
of the Polish squad from 1999-2003 and competed in the World Junior and
World U23 Championships. Was encouraged into the sport by his father and
rowed at the KW04 club on the river in Poznan. In 2003 he moved to Germany
to continue his studies at Hanover University, and had to give up his place
in the Polish squad. Whilst in Germany, he won the national sprint in a
single for Angaria, his German club. After leaving Hanover, in 2006, he
moved to Bristol and took up a job a the University there. Being in
Bristol, he rowed for the Bristol University Boat Club. Michal then applied
to Oxford and gained the DTC scholarship to continue his studies.
