Personal bio:
Born in Montreal, Canada, then moved to the USA (Sarasota, FL), aged 10.
Was an avid ice hockey and basketball player before being talked into
rowing by his older brother. Rowed for the USA as a Junior (aged 17) at
Hazewinkel, Belgium. Then attended Syracuse University on a full
athletic/academic scholarship where he rowed in the first eight for four
years. Then trained with the US squad and won world U23 gold (Genoa, Italy)
2002, Pan-Am Games gold (2003), and the 2003 Head of the Charles, Boston,
USA. Was also fourth at the 2004 World Cup (Lucerne, Switzerland). Was an
alternate for the US eight at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Currently
taking leave from his postgrad legal studies in the US to work towards a
second postgrad degree, a Masters in Water Science, Policy and Management,
at Oxford. Chris’ future interests international environmental law and
academia.
