Started rowing aged 16, encouraged by W Hart Perry , who is a Henley steward and member of Leander Rowing Club and various other rowing establishments. He cannot thank him enough for his help over the years

Interests:

Skiing, snowboarding, water skiing, fly fishing, hiking and photography. Dan has also recovered from brain cancer - diagnosed in 1995 when he was given a year to live. He hopes to stay healthy, win The Boat Race, return to full strength for the US team and meet for drinks with the people in The Boat Race press team
