Tim started rowing at school in 1990 and was asked to join the Western
Australian Institute of Sport’s talent identification program in 1992. He
represented Australia in sculling over a five year period beginning in
1995, featuring in the World Junior Championships, Nation’s Cup and World
Cup. He won the Double Scull at the World Junior Championships in
Strathclyde in 1996. His most memorable race is winning the 1999 King’s
Cup for Western Australia beating a truly international field. He is a PhD
student at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute working on infectious
disease genetics. He has been married to his amazing wife, Kura, for three
years and has a baby daughter, Tallulah.
