Before joining Cambridge in 2007, John studied Sports Coaching and Performance at Bath University. He began rowing at the end of 2004 emulating members of his family who had rowed in previous Boat Races. John is part of the ‘World Class Start and Potential Programme’ which helps to identify and develop potential Olympians. He played rugby on the back row and made the England U18 trials. John is a keen Macclesfield Town fan.
