Personal bio:
Rowed in the 2005 Cambridge Blue Boat. Used to swim competitively but got
bored and took up rowing aged 16 at San Diego RC. Competed at the 2004
Olympic Games, finishing 11th in the men’s pair. Competed at the World
Championships three times – 2001, 2002 and 2003 – finishing fourth in
the eight, fourth in the coxed four and 11th in the pairs respectively.
Raced in the IRA (American Collegiate Championships) and went undefeated
for four successive years. Former Oxford Blue Scott Frandsen is a rowing
acquaintance. At the World U23 Championships was a bronze medallist in 2000
when a German crew took the title featuring some of Walton’s current
Cambridge team-mates such as Germany’s Sebastian Schulte.. A year earlier
Walton’s US crew had taken the title beating Schulte’s Geramny eight.
When not rowing and studying enjoys listening to all kinds of music.
