Personal bio:
Coveny competed in the 2004 (losing) and 2005 (winning – course record)
Goldie crews. Also rowed in the victorious Cambridge crew in the Ladies’
Plate at Henley Royal Regatta in 2005.. Already has a degree in
biochemistry from Northeastern University and is pursuing a degree in Land
Economy at Cambridge with an interest in finance and investment. Is
currently enjoying his time so much in the UK that he wants to stay and
hopes that his analytical skills will eventually lead to a consultant’s
or investment banking role here. His brother Ian (member of two US National
Rowing Teams and studying at Cambridge this year - 2005) persuaded Coveny
to take up rowing. Ian has now joined Kyle in the CUBC squad. Kyle set his
sights on Cambridge after completing a degree in biochemistry at
Northeastern University. At Northeastern, Kyle was named Most Valuable
Player (Oarsman) in 2002 and competed in four Intercollegiate rowing
championships. Tim Wooge, the 2003 Cambridge President, is also an alumni
of Northeastern and rowed there with Kyle’s brother in 1997. Kyle’s
interests include playing drums, guitar, singing, dancing and listening to
himself talk.
