The Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race sponsored by Xchanging

Raced with Goldie in 2004. Was a novice in 2002 and decided to trial for the first time in 2003. Interestingly, rowed for Goldie before he made it into his college first eight. Competed in a four at the World U23 Championships in Poznan, Poland, in the summer of 2004 with Ed Sherwood and Richard Sykes-Popham of Cambridge and David Livingston of Oxford. Travelled to Waikato in New Zealand in the summer vacation where Cambridge won the annual challenge.. Intriguingly, lists his interests this year as including Emily, sister of his team-mate Peter Rudge. Played hockey, rugby and golf at school. Grandfather (John), who died before James was born, was at Jesus College.
