Noviced in 2002 for Jesus College. Won the Senior 4 Head of the River in 2003. Went on to row in Goldie in 2004 and was selected for the World U23 Championships where he competed in the summer of 2004 in the coxless four with two Cambridge team-mates and David Livingston of Oxford. Also enjoys orienteering.
