Kyle’s brother Ian has rowed on two US national teams. He convinced Kyle to take up the sport. John Pojednic, Kyle’s coach at Northeastern University in Boston, is friends with Cambridge Coach Robin Williams and persuaded Kyle to come to Cambridge after completing a degree in Bio-Chemistry at Northeastern. Kyle is studying Land Economy but may switch to a Masters in Management Studies. Tim Wooge, last year’s Cambridge President is also a Northeastern Alumni. At Northeastern, Kyle was named Most Valued Player (oarsman) in 2002 and competed in the Inter-collegiate rowing championships.
