Interests:
Started rowing at 17. Competed against some of the current OUBC rowers
whilst they were at Yale. Graduated from Harvard in 2000 and worked for
Deutsche Bank, Investment banking for 2 years, in NY, Baltimore and London.
Father (Hartmut) served as a spare for the East German national team at
both the 1976 and 1980 Olympics. He also coached the East German
Women’s National Team (and led the VIII to gold in 1988). Then
coached the US National Women’s Team from 1991, leading them to 5
golds at the 1995 World Champs as well as medals in the 1992 and 1996
Olympics. He has coached more rowers to World Champ medals than any other
