Cambridge today won another epic 150th Boat Race – reversing the trend of
the last two years.
The two crews clashed oars several times at the Fulhan Bend, with Oxford
bowman Chris Kennelly missing several strokes.
Oxford cox Acer Nethercott lodged a formal complaint at the end of the
race, but Umpire James Behrens did not uphold the complaint.
After the race he said: "It’s a bitter disappointment to have the
150th Boat Race decided in this way, it’s truly gutting."
Sebastian Mayer of the winning Cambridge crew said: "We knew we could
win it – we believed it all the way. It is unbelieveable."
