The Bandstand in Dukes Meadow, one of the classic Boat Race landmarks, is
to be renovated through a grant of £10,000 provided to the Dukes Meadow
Trust.
The Bandstand, according to local paper the Hounslow and Chiswick Guardian,
has a structural fault and for the past two years has been fenced off.
However, Euroclear has now given the Dukes Meadow Trust a grant to repair
it.
The trust, previously known as the Friends of Dukes Meadows, will be
working with the council to complete the work before Boat Race day on the
April 7th.
Chairman of the Trust Paul Allen said: "We are delighted to have
secured the grant and very grateful to Euroclear.
"The bandstand belongs to the council so we will be working with them
to get the repairs done”.
