The USA won the weekend’s Canal Cup with Cambridge in fifth place.

World Champions Germany had to settle for second behind the Americans on the Kiel Canal. A British eight featuring Oxford Blues Peter Reed, Andy Hodge and Tom Parker were third ahead of the Dutch in fourth place.

Cambridge, recent winners of the event, came home in fifth place.

150,000 people turned out to see the racing.
