Cambridge won the elite men’s coxed four at the Fours Head on
Saturday 18 November.
Thorsten Engelmann, Sebastian Schulte, Kieran West and Tom James, coxed by
Dennis Casey, came in ahead of a field which included a top-flight Leander
Club crew amongst others.
Their finishing time was 18 minutes 22.23 seconds over a course which is
the reverse of the course to be faced by both Universities when the Boat
Race takes place next April, sponsored by Xchanging.
In the Fours Head, crews compete from Chiswick Bridge to Putney Bridge.
Oxford, competing as Isis, also took third and fourth place in this event.
Meanwhile, two former Light Blues were pennant winners in the elite
men’s four race. Josh West and Tom Stallard teamed-up with James Orme
(former Goldie) and Richard Egington to take the title for Leander.
Isis were second in this event and Cambridge were third.
