Cambridge are the bookies’ favourites to win today’s 152nd Boat Race,
which is sponsored by Xchanging.
Paddy Power, William Hill and Ladbrokes all have Cambridge at 2-1 on to win
this afternoon’s race.
Oxford, winners of the 2005 Boat Race, are ranked at 6-4 to win again this
year.
For the more adventurous, you can get odds of 8-1 with Paddy Power for
Cambridge to win today’s race by less than a length, 11-2 for Cambridge
to win by one to two lengths, and evens for a Light Blue victory by more
than two lengths.
Oxford are rated 9-1 to win by less than a length, 7-1 to win by one to two
lengths and 5-2 to win by more than two lengths.
Paddy Power, William Hill and Ladbrokes are all offering 100-1 for a dead
heat.
William Hill are offering 20-1 for one of the boats to sink and 8-1 for the
race to be won in a record time. The current record for the annual Putney
to Mortlake race is 16 minutes 19 seconds, set by Cambridge in 1998.
For those with a real sense of adventure who like a whacky punt – Paddy
Power are offering odds of 500-1 for either of the boats to crash into a
whale during the race.
